Spotify is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. With the Family feature, you can add up to four people to the same account. Adding members to your Spotify family is easy, and you can change their roles and settings as you see fit. You can also block songs and videos for certain family members and adjust the filters on adult content.
Adding members
If you have a Spotify Premium account, you can add up to five members to your family plan. Each member will get a reduced subscription to Spotify’s Premium service, allowing you to share your favorite songs and albums with your loved ones.
The process is simple. First, you must create a new account on Spotify. Next, you will need to invite someone you want to share the Premium service with. You can use email or invite them through a web browser.
When you receive an invitation, click the link. It will take you to a page where you’ll need to confirm your information. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be redirected to a different page.
On the same page, you’ll be prompted to send an invitation to another user. This is the only time you’ll need to do that.
Once you’ve sent an invitation, you’ll receive an email with the same link. After clicking the link, you’ll be directed to a new page with the same pre-filled token.
In addition to sending an invitation, you can also choose to connect your Spotify and Facebook accounts. However, you’ll need to authorize Spotify to access your Facebook information.
If you don’t want to invite anyone to your family plan, you can just log out and switch back to the free account. Otherwise, you can’t remove your family members.
To learn more about adding and removing members, you can contact customer support. They’ll be happy to help.
Spotify offers a Premium for Family option that is inexpensive and gives you and your family access to your favorite albums and podcasts. It’s easy to share your plan with other users, but you won’t be able to remove a member if they’re not yours.
Blocking a song
If you have an account with Spotify, you may have wondered how to block a song on the service. This can be a confusing process, but it’s actually pretty easy.
You can block a track on the iOS or Android app. It’s also possible to block a random user on the app, or even an entire follower list.
However, you cannot hide a song or delete a song from the playlists. To block an artist, go to their profile, select “Don’t play this artist,” and choose “Don’t play this album.”
Alternatively, you can block songs from radio stations. Select the radio station you’d like to stop listening to, and click the minus sign. Then, you’ll skip to the next track in the queue.
You can also block artists from appearing in your Discover Weekly playlist. But, you’ll only be able to block them on the current device. As a result, you’ll not see their latest songs.
However, you can always unblock a track later. That’s because blocked tracks are tied to the user’s individual account.
You can also use the desktop app to block an artist. When you’re logged in, you can click the three-dot menu at the top right of the screen. From there, you’ll see a menu that includes the option to vote for artist blocking.
For Premium for Family users, you can also block tracks. In the Grown Ups section of the app, you’ll find a button to “Block.” Click it to stop playing the track.
Similarly, you can filter explicit content. To do so, open the screen time tab, then enter the user’s name and tap “Match this user.”
There are also some steps you can take to remove ads. While these aren’t as easy as blocking a song, you can still block them with the ad blocker on your phone.
Setting up adult content filters
What can you expect from the Spotify family plan? As the name suggests, the plan is meant for the whole familly. Aside from the standard subscription, users can opt in to a more comprehensive family package that includes parental control. In addition to blocking naughty content, the family package offers access to the latest in music streaming technology. It’s easy to see why millions of people are jumping on the Spotify train.
As it turns out, it isn’t too hard to find sexy music. In fact, the platform’s most popular songs are among the most explicit of all time. The same can’t be said of its music videos. With the right tools, users can block the content in question and get back to the fun stuff.
For starters, users can turn on the “Screen Time” feature, a nifty feature if ever there was one. To set it up, a user must navigate to the Family tab. Next, the player will automatically skip tracks that contain explicit content. This isn’t the end of the road; users can also manually edit the filter to their liking. However, it’s best to be prepared. Some family members may not be familiar with the ins and outs of this feature.
The best part is that users can also take advantage of the plethora of other features that come with the family package. Besides filtering naughty music, users can also set up social media restrictions, allow or deny users access to certain services, and manage playlists. Other useful features include a parental control function, a dashboard to keep track of usage metrics, and a library of music.
Unsubscribing
Spotify Family is an account which you can add to to enjoy more Premium features. However, you may not like the value of the subscription. If so, you can cancel it and start over with a new subscription. The process is a simple one.
First, you’ll need to create a new account. This can be done from the website. You can also contact Spotify to have an existing account deleted.
Once you’ve created the new account, you’ll want to make sure you don’t have any paid subscriptions. It’s possible that you signed up for Spotify through a third-party service such as iTunes or a mobile provider. When you click on the “Subscription” option from the sidebar menu, you’ll see an overview of your subscriptions.
In addition, you’ll want to check your bank statements and email to determine if there’s a third-party that’s sending you a charge for the service. You can also try contacting Spotify customer support to find out more.
Next, you’ll want to navigate to the account settings. From here, you’ll want to scroll down to the Subscription section. On the left, you’ll see the type of subscription you have.
The best part about this step is that it will tell you when you’re able to return to the free version of Spotify. Keep in mind, though, that you will no longer be able to access your library.
Finally, you’ll be presented with a popup that asks you if you’re sure you want to unsubscribe. Click the “Yes” button. After you do, you’ll have a chance to change your mind.
As you can see, canceling a subscription is not as easy as it looks. To learn more, contact Spotify or visit their official Close Account Support page.
Resolving an ads blocking error
When you try to stream music on Spotify, you may encounter errors. There are a few things you can do to get your playlists working properly.
The first thing you should do is check your network and firewall settings. If you are on a corporate network, you might be blocked from Spotify. You can use a VPN to connect to a different region server.
Another possible problem is a software error. Your operating system might have a glitch that causes Spotify to stop. To fix this, you should make sure you are using the latest version of the app.
You should also check your browser and drivers. These are usually the cause of some of the most common problems. You can try reinstalling the application or running a compatibility troubleshooter.
If the error isn’t fixed by reinstalling the app, you should contact Spotify Support. They will be able to help you get your account back on track.
You can also use a third-party clean app. This is a great way to get rid of any files or memory cache that might be causing the problem. Alternatively, you can delete Spotify and restart your computer.
In some cases, the issue is simply due to a mis-configured proxy server. If this is the case, you should change your proxy settings. After that, you can log into Spotify again.
Another possible problem is that your computer isn’t able to communicate with the Spotify servers. This can happen when you don’t use the correct account or if the music file you are playing is outdated.
Aside from deleting and reinstalling the app, there are several other things you can do. Try a soft reboot and see if this fixes the issue.
